Did you know that the British Council in Cyprus was involved in programmes aiming to support social and business issues?

Over the years, the British Council has been involved or managed very successful projects in a number of sectors – Education & English, Society & Governance, Science and Arts, focusing in areas such as evolving of business in times of change, gender issues, the role of civil society and the media.

Currently we manage the COOPower project, aiming at tackling youth unemployment. The project is implemented in Cyprus, Greece and Croatia and provides practical support to young people by demonstrating the value of social enterprises and cooperatives as viable career pathways. Find out more about the project here: https://www.britishcouncil.com.cy/programmes/society/coopower.

Pictures from our archives below show work from our various programmes on facilitating gender equality in politics (1999), changing economic models and environmental policies (2003), Famelab (2013) and the connecting classrooms programme.
