You probably know that the British Council first started in Cyprus in 1940 offering English language lessons to the people of Cyprus, named the British Institute. English lessons to students continued for 17 years and although there aren’t records for all these years the records we do have show that close to 8,000 people undertook courses at the British Institute.
Now, through our online resources, we reach more people everywhere in the world, at their suitable time and place. You can find out more on our website, including our new service - EnglishScore Tutor online one-to-one lessons.
Follow our #80YearsInCyprus anniversary campaign to find out more about the British Council in Cyprus, its past, present and future and send us your stories through.
